My name is Addison - welcome to my life! I’m a journalist, singer and songwriter based in New York City.
Raised in Tampa, Florida, I’m currently a junior at New York University pursuing a double major in Journalism in the College of Arts and Sciences (B.A.). and Recorded Music within Tisch’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music (B.F.A.).
I'm also the Deputy Culture Editor of the Washington Square News, our student newspaper, and a passionate member of NYU’s Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. My ultimate dream is to work in the journalism industry while still dabbling in my other passions, singing and songwriting.
When I’m not studying, attending chapter, or writing articles, I can frequently be seen shopping at Trader Joe’s (my one true love), choking while running on the treadmill at the gym, or complaining about the latest season of The Bachelor (but obviously still tuning in faithfully every Monday night).
I want to work in journalism but still pursue music on the side because, to put it simply, I love telling stories – especially ones that some people don’t have the chance to share themselves. Sometimes these stories take the form of an interview with a New York food influencer, and sometimes they take the form of a three-minute song.
In my journalism career, I would love to report specifically on the topics of lifestyle, fitness, nutrition, beauty and pop culture – nothing would make me happier than trying to make the world just a bit brighter through writing about new discoveries in these fields or sharing someone’s story through an interview.
Currently, I am working remotely for Modern Luxury Media as an Editorial Intern.
